130716 Amsterdam Sour Framboise

加拿大沒有甚麼好的酸啤酒,原因還在於一切的研發和趨勢都落後美國約3-5年。我嚐了後寫給我朋友的信如下,抱歉就不翻譯中文了,看不懂的請再發問吧。

Here is my personal tasting note;
 
This sour framboise has a very attractive red hue, and good clarity but the head was not thick and able to stand long. Nose is berry like with a solid barrel background but not overwhelming; good nose. The sourness is not too sharp and balanced well with the berry flavour. Very refreshing. However, the sharp, lingering bitterness, to me, is not good. I would describe this kind sharp bitterness somehow like the bitter taste from medicine. After taste is dry which is good but along with the sharp bitterness gives me a unpleasant palatefullness if I do not keep drinking. I feel the BU is probably too high originally and the hops used for major BU contribution would be either too high in alpha or was not aged.
 
If you know how this has been brewed and prepared please compare to my tasting note and see if anything matches.
 
Actually the berry like taste makes me recall the accident barrel we made which much get certain good wild yeast and bacteria. Maybe we should isolate it someday… (幼航,年初給你的那兩小瓶希望好喝,還沒喝的話,記得留一瓶下來放著;如果第一瓶好喝的話)
 
Overall, this beer is tasty and well done in, probably, most of Canada.
